(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks attempt to halt a two-game losing streak when they host the Washington Wizards tonight at American Airlines Center.
Dallas returns home after going 1-2 on a three-game road trip. On Saturday, Michael Redd scored a game-best 27 points as the Milwaukee Bucks knocked off the Mavericks, 97-95, at the Bradley Center.
Josh Howard finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Mavericks, who have dropped two in a row after a five-game winning streak. Jason Terry netted 21 points, including six three-pointers, while reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki ended with 20 points in defeat.
The Mavericks, who open a three-game homestand, are a perfect 6-0 at home this season. They will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday and the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday at American Airlines Center.
Washington has also lost two in a row, and plays the second of a four-game road trip this evening. On Saturday, Rudy Gay scored 27 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies past the Wizards, 124-118, at FedExForum.
Antawn Jamison contributed 41 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Wizards, while Caron Butler had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists in defeat.
The Wizards are 3-4 on the road this season. They will visit the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the AT&T Center and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday at the Wachovia Center.
Last season, the teams split a pair of contests. Washington has lost five straight and six of its last seven at Dallas.
The Wizards are scheduled to host Dallas on January 21, 2008 at the Verizon Center in the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs.
