Minnesota Timberwolves (1-8) at Denver Nuggets (8-4), 9 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets attempt to get back on the winning track when they welcome the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves tonight to the Pepsi Center.
This is the second meeting of the campaign between the squads. On November 2nd, Carmelo Anthony poured in 33 points and Allen Iverson added 24 as the Nuggets rebounded from a slow start to down the Timberwolves, 99-91, at the Target Center.
Minnesota has lost three of four and five of its last seven at Denver.
The Nuggets return home after a tough loss on the road. Chris Kaman scored 17 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and blocked four shots to lead the Los Angeles Clippers over Denver, 101-90, on Wednesday at the Staples Center.
Iverson scored 29 points and handed out nine assists in the loss for Denver, which had its six-game winning streak halted. Anthony netted 24 points, while Marcus Camby ended with 18 points and 18 rebounds in defeat.
Denver is 5-1 at home this season and has won four in a row at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets are scheduled to visit Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets on Saturday at the Toyota Center.
The Timberwolves have lost three in a row and eight of nine to start the campaign. LeBron James poured in 45 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out five assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers downed Minnesota, 97-86, on Wednesday at the Target Center.
Al Jefferson had 30 points and eight rebounds for the hapless Timberwolves, while veteran Antoine Walker and Gerald Green both contributed 13 points off the bench in a losing cause.
Minnesota is 0-3 on the road this season. The Timberwolves return home to host the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday at the Target Center.
