NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, December 21st (All times eastern)

Chicago Bulls (9-14) at Boston Celtics (20-3), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics are no longer unbeaten at home this season, but will try to rebound versus the visiting Chicago Bulls tonight at TD Banknorth Garden.

Boston is now 12-1 as the host this season after Wednesday's 87-85 loss to the Detroit Pistons in the opener of a three-game homestand. Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics, who had a nine-game winning streak come to an end.

Ray Allen, who had missed the previous two games because of a sore right ankle, scored 24 points in a losing effort. Paul Pierce was held to 11 points on 5-of-16 shooting for the Celtics, who still matched their best start after 23 games, equaling the 1963-64 NBA title team.

The Celtics will close out the stand on Sunday against the Orlando Magic.

Meanwhile, the Bulls will conclude a brief two-game road trip and have alternated wins and losses over their last seven games.

In Wednesday's 95-84 victory over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center, Ben Gordon led the way with 22 points, six assists and six rebounds, while Luol Deng scored 20 points for Chicago, which is 4-8 away from the Windy City this season.

On the injury front for the Bulls, center Ben Wallace is questionable for Friday's game against Boston with a sore left foot. Wallace did not play in the win over the Wizards.

The Celtics notched a 92-81 win over the Bulls on December 8 this season at the United Center, snapping an eight-game skid in the series.

Chicago has won 10 of the last 13 meetings with the Celtics, and four in a row at Boston.
