New Jersey Nets (18-20) at Los Angeles Clippers (11-24), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets open a season-long six-game road trip when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On December 11th, Chris Kaman and Tim Thomas both scored 18 points, as the Clippers defeated the New Jersey Nets, 91-82, at Izod Center.
New Jersey has lost three straight and four of its last five at the Clippers, who have won three of their last four games overall.
The Nets start the swing on a three-game losing streak. Jamal Crawford scored 35 points and hit the go-ahead shot from beyond the arc in the final minute, as the Knicks rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat New Jersey, 111-105, at the Izod Center.
Vince Carter ended with 26 points to lead the Nets, who have dropped four of their last five games overall. Richard Jefferson ended with 22 points and Jason Kidd chipped in 10 points and 17 assists in the victory.
New Jersey will also visit Phoenix, Sacramento, Golden State, Denver and Minnesota on the current swing.
The Clippers begin a three-game homestand. On Friday, Carlos Boozer led a balanced Utah attack with 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Jazz earned a 106-88 over the Clippers at EnergySolutions Arena.
Corey Maggette ended with a team-high 20 points, while Kaman scored 16 and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Clippers. Veteran Sam Cassell finished with 16 points and six assists, while Tim Thomas netted 11 and grabbed five rebounds and Brevin Knight contributed 10 points in defeat.
LA is 6-13 as the host this season. The Clippers will also play the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings on the current homestand.
