(Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic try to continue their hot start to the season when they pay a visit to the New Jersey Nets this evening at the Izod Center.
Orlando is 7-2 on the year and has won two straight and six of the last seven games, including Wednesday's 117-116 overtime win against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.
Dwight Howard registered a career-high tying 35 points with 16 rebounds and buried the game-winning free throw with 5.8 seconds left in overtime. Jameer Nelson scored 21 points, tallied 11 assists and grabbed seven boards for the Magic, while Rashard Lewis had 20 points in the win.
New Jersey has lost three straight after a three-game winning streak. It suffered a 91-69 setback to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday at TD Banknorth Garden, as Richard Jefferson scored 21 points and pulled down six boards in a losing cause.
Jason Kidd finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while rookie Sean Williams notched 14 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
Both teams split four meetings last year, but New Jersey has won five of seven and six of the last nine meetings.
Orlando has lost its last four trips to the Meadowlands.
