Philadelphia 76ers (14-24) at Houston Rockets (20-18), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets play the third of a five-game homestand when they host the slumping Philadelphia 76ers tonight at the Toyota Center.
This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On December 10th, Willie Green scored 20 points to lift the Sixers to a 100-88 victory over the Rockets at the Wachovia Center.
Philadelphia has lost five of its last six at Houston.
Houston is 1-1 on the stand. David West finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the New Orleans Hornets over the Rockets, 87-82, at the Toyota Center.
Yao Ming poured in 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the loss for Houston, which had a season-high five-game winning streak halted. Rafer Alston added 12 points and seven assists, while Luther Head and Aaron Brooks both ended with 11 points.
All-Star guard Tracy McGrady, who leads the team in scoring (22.8 ppg), has not played since December 23rd because of a left knee injury. Houston is 7-3 during the stretch without McGrady.
The Rockets are 9-7 at home this season. They will host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday and the Seattle SuperSonics on Monday at the Toyota Center.
Philadelphia has dropped a season-worst seven in a row, as it plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip tonight. On Monday, Manu Ginobili went without a field goal until midway through the fourth quarter, then hit four clutch three-pointers in the final five minutes on his way to 20 points as the Spurs held off the Sixers, 89-82, at the AT&T Center.
Green ended with a game-high 21 points and Samuel Dalembert scored 12 and pulled down 20 rebounds for the second straight game. Philadelphia has yet to taste victory since the calendar turned to 2008.
The Sixers are scheduled to visit Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics on Friday at TD Banknorth Garden. Philadelphia is 7-13 on the road this season.
