New Jersey Nets (9-11) at Washington Wizards (9-10), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Washington Wizards continue their homestand when they host the New Jersey Nets tonight at the Verizon Center.
Washington is 2-1 on its current five-game homestand. On Friday, Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift the Phoenix Suns to a 122-107 rout of the Wizards at the Verizon Center.
Andray Blatche led the Wizards with 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in the loss. Antawn Jamison finished with 16 points and 11 boards, while Roger Mason netted 15 for the Wizards, who saw their two-game winning streak halted.
The Wizards will host Al Jefferson and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday at the Verizon Center. Washington is 5-4 at home this season.
New Jersey attempts to halt a two-game losing streak. Yao Ming scored 25 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked three shots to lead the Houston Rockets to a 96-89 victory over the Nets on Friday at the Izod Center.
Vince Carter scored a season-high 32 and pulled down seven rebounds in the loss to Houston for the Nets, while Richard Jefferson netted 29. Jason Kidd, who returned from a one-game absence due to migraines, finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Nets, who have lost three of their last four games overall.
The Nets are 5-3 on the road this season. They return home to host the Clippers on Tuesday and Cleveland on December 14th at the Izod Center.
This is the second meeting of the season between New Jersey and the Wizards. On November 8th, Richard Jefferson finished with 25 points and hit a pair of difference-making free throws with under 30 seconds remaining as the Nets recovered from a dismal first half to oust Washington Wizards, 87-85, at the Izod Center.
The Nets have won six in a row in the series. New Jersey has won three straight after losing its last three at Washington.
