NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Thursday, December 6th (All times eastern)

Denver Nuggets (11-8) at Dallas Mavericks (12-7), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Nuggets All-Star guard Allen Iverson is coming off a huge performance in a losing effort and will try to get Denver back in the win column tonight against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

Iverson netted a season-high 51 points in a 111-107 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday at the Pepsi Center. Iverson shot 18-of-27 from the field and had eight assists, but was limited to just two points in the decisive fourth quarter for the Nuggets, who have lost four of six.

Carmelo Anthony added 26 points and Marcus Camby grabbed 20 rebounds. Denver will now try to stop a three-game losing streak on the road and work on its 3-5 record as the guest this evening. Anthony is probable for Thursday's game at Dallas with a sore ankle.

The Mavericks have dropped two of their last three games, including Wednesday's 97-95 setback to the rival San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center.

Josh Howard led the way with 22 points for the Mavericks. Jason Terry scored 20 points in a losing effort, as the Mavs begin a brief two-game homestand Thursday versus Denver and Utah.

Dallas is 8-1 as the host this season. In injury news for the Mavs, guard Jose Barea (shoulder) and forward Devean George (foot) are questionable for tonight's game versus the Nuggets. George has yet to play this season.

The Mavericks went 3-1 against Denver last season and have won eight of 10 and nine of the last 13 matchups in the series.

Denver has dropped five in a row and 18 of its last 19 trips to Dallas.
