(Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets begin a three-game road trip when they visit the Denver Nuggets tonight at the Pepsi Center.
The Hornets opened the season with a pair of games at home. On Friday, Chris Paul posted 19 points and six assists as the Hornets got back-to-back wins to open the 2007-08 season after cruising past the Portland Trail Blazers, 113-93, at New Orleans Arena.
Peja Stojakovic scored 18 points for the Hornets, who opened the campaign with Wednesday's 104-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings. David West and Bobby Jackson both finished with 14 points.
New Orleans will also visit the Lakers and Portland during its current swing.
The Hornets opened last season with four straight wins, but finished with a 39-43 record and did not qualify for the playoffs.
Denver tries to open a season with three straight victories for the first time since the 1985-86 campaign, when the Nuggets won their first six contests of the campaign.
Carmelo Anthony poured in 33 points, and Allen Iverson added 24 points as the Nuggets rebounded from a slow start to down the Minnesota Timberwolves, 99-91, on Friday at the Target Center.
Marcus Camby had 14 points and 21 rebounds for the Nuggets, who started their season 2-0 for the first time since the 1987-88 season. Iverson was just 4- of-14 from the field, but went 15-of-16 from the foul line to help Denver rebound from an early 13-point deficit.
The Nuggets are 1-0 at home this season. They defeated the Seattle SuperSonics, 120-103, on Wednesday in their season opener.
After tonight's contest, the Nuggets will embark on a four-game road trip. They will visit New York, Washington, Boston and Indiana on the upcoming swing.
Last season, the Nuggets and Hornets split four contests. The Hornets have lost four of their last six at Denver.
