NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, February 24th (All times eastern)

Boston Celtics (13-41) at Utah Jazz (36-18), 9 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Utah Jazz will try to extend their lead in the Northwest Division tonight when they host the Boston Celtics at EntergySolutions Arena.

The Nuggets pushed their divisional lead to 9 1/2 games over Denver on Friday after besting the Nuggets, 114-104.

Deron Williams posted 26 points and 14 assists and Matt Harpring scored 22 points for the shorthanded Jazz, who lost forward Andrei Kirilenko early in the game due to a bruised knee. All-Star center Mehmet Okur was already a late scratch before the contest because of a back injury.

Both players are questionable for tonight's game.

Paul Millsap had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, while Gordan Giricek notched 12 points for the Jazz, who have won five in a row at home and are 21-6 as the host this season.

Utah took the lone meeting with Boston this season on November 10 to snap a four-game losing streak in the series. The Celtics, meanwhile, have won five of their last seven clashes with the Jazz overall, including three straight in Utah.

This season has been a different story though for Boston, which lost for the 21st time in 22 games after being pounded by the Lakers, 122-96, on Friday.

All-Star dunk champion Gerald Green had 21 points, while Al Jefferson had 18 points and Paul Pierce 15 for Boston, which has lost 11 in a row on the road, two shy of the club record established at the conclusion of the 1978-79 season.

This is the fourth game of a five-game road swing for Boston that will conclude Monday in Houston. On the season, the Celtics are 8-20 on the road and last overall in the Eastern Conference.
