NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, February 12th (All times eastern)

Atlanta Hawks (20-30) at Utah Jazz (33-17), 9 p.m.

(Sports Network) - A pair of teams with winning streaks meet tonight, as the Utah Jazz welcome the Atlanta Hawks to EnergySolutions Arena.

Atlanta has lost 12 straight at Utah. The last time the Hawks won on the road against the Jazz was on February 13, 1993.

Utah, which plays the third of a four-game homestand, has won four in a row overall. Derek Fisher's lay-in with 3.6 seconds left in overtime lifted the Jazz over the New York Knicks, 104-102, in front of their fans on Saturday.

Mehmet Okur ended with 29 points in the win over New York for the Jazz, who overcame a 10-point deficit and have won nine of their last 12 games overall. Paul Millsap added 18 points and nine rebounds for Utah, which ended a five- game slide to the Knicks and avenged an overtime loss in New York earlier this season.

On the injury front for Utah, All-Star forward Carlos Boozer is still sidelined with a hairline fracture in his left fibula. Boozer is averaging team-highs in points (22.1 ppg) and rebounds (11.8 rpg).

The Jazz are 19-6 at home this season. They are scheduled to host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Atlanta has won two in a row and will play the third of a five-game road trip. Josh Smith poured in a game-high 29 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Hawks held off a late scare by the Golden State Warriors for a 106-105 victory at ORACLE Arena.

Joe Johnson scored 21 points and dished out 11 assists for the Hawks, who have won six of their last seven games overall. Josh Childress ended with 13 points and Speedy Claxton posted 12 points and 10 assists in the victory.

Hawks guard Tyronn Lue (sore left hamstring) is expected to be out until after the All-Star break. Lue has registered 12.2 points and 3.3 assists per game.

The Hawks are 11-15 on the road this season. They will visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday at the Staples Center and the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday at the United Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 20th, Okur posted 30 points and 10 rebounds as the Northwest Division-leading Jazz rallied to beat the Hawks, 112-106, at Philips Arena.

Utah has won the last eight encounters with the Hawks.
