NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, April 1st (All times eastern)

Minnesota Timberwolves (30-42) at Orlando Magic (34-39), 6 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic play the second of an important four-game homestand, as they welcome the fading Minnesota Timberwolves today to Amway Arena.

The Magic are tied with the New Jersey Nets for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Orlando won the opener of the stand. Veteran forward Grant Hill poured in 22 points to lead the Magic over the Indiana Pacers, 95-87, on Friday at Amway Arena.

Trevor Ariza scored 17 points for the Magic, who have won three of their last four games overall. Hedo Turkoglu and Dwight Howard both posted 10 points apiece, while Tony Battie pulled down 10 rebounds for Orlando.

The Magic are 22-14 at home this season. They are scheduled to host the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday and the Memphis Grizzlies on April 7th.

Minnesota tries halt a three-game losing streak. Udonis Haslem paced a balanced Miami attack with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Heat downed the Timberwolves, 92-77, on Friday at the Target Center.

All-Star Kevin Garnett scored 22 points and 20 rebounds in the loss to Miami for the Timberwolves. Mark Blount tallied 18 points and rookie Randy Foye netted 10 but shot just 4-of-15 from the floor.

The Timberwolves, who have dropped two in a row as the visitor, are a dismal 10-27 on the road this season. They return home to host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday at the Target Center.

This is the second and final time the teams will meet this season. On November 11th, Dwight Howard scored 21 points and pulled down 22 rebounds to the lead the Magic to a 109-98 victory over Minnesota at the Target Center.

Minnesota has lost four of six and 12 of its last 15 at Orlando.
