Orlando Magic (8-4) at Miami Heat (4-7), 7:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The struggling Miami Heat try to stop a two-game slide tonight when they host the Orlando Magic at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Miami suffered a 106-86 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the AT&T Center. Dwyane Wade netted 18 points on just 7-of-17 shooting with six assists and Earl Barron posted 15 points off the bench for the Heat, who have dropped five of their last six contests.
Alonzo Mourning added 10 points as Miami lost its ninth straight in San Antonio. The Heat are hurting without center Shaquille O'Neal, who is sidelined with a knee injury. The defending NBA champions have gone 1-3 without O'Neal in the lineup.
Orlando has won five of its last six games, including Wednesday's 96-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers at TD Waterhouse Centre.
Jameer Nelson poured in 22 points and Dwight Howard posted 16 to lead the Southeast division-leading Magic past the Pacers. Nelson, who dished out five assists, and Howard, who pulled down 11 rebounds, both finished 7-of-12 from the field.
Grant Hill scored 14 points with six boards and Darko Milicic added 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Magic.
Orlando and Miami split four meetings last season, but the Heat have won 10 of 12 and 13 of the last 19 in the series.
The Magic have lost seven of its last 10 trips to Miami, which leads the all- time series with Orlando by a 40-27 margin.
