NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, November 11th (All times eastern)

New York Knicks (2-4) at San Antonio Spurs (4-1), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The New York Knicks conclude a three-game road trip against Western Conference opponents tonight when they visit the San Antonio Spurs tonight at the AT&T Center.

New York started off the swing with a dramatic 109-107 victory at Denver on Wednesday, but were overmatched by Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets last night. Yao racked up 35 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks to propel his team to a 103-94 win at the Toyota Center.

Stephon Marbury had 22 points and Jamal Crawford scored 18 for New York, which has now lost four of five since opening the season with a win at Memphis. Quentin Richardson added 16 points in defeat.

The Spurs are currently riding a three-game win streak, although they had to work hard for their latest victory. Fabricio Oberto scored 22 points on a perfect 11-of-11 from the floor as San Antonio rallied for a 111-106 overtime victory over Phoenix Wednesday at the AT&T Center.

The Spurs dominated the first four minutes of the extra frame, outscoring Phoenix 10-2 to take a comfortable 111-103 lead. Tony Parker's running jumper with 1:14 left capped the spurt.

Parker netted a game-high 29 points with six assists for the Spurs, while Tim Duncan added a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds.

San Antonio posted a tremendous 34-7 record at home last season but has split its first two games at the AT&T Center in 2006-07. Cleveland handed the Spurs their lone loss of the year in San Antonio on November 3.

These teams have already faced one another once this season, with San Antonio recording a 105-93 victory at Madison Square Garden on Monday. Parker led the way with 24 points and 10 assists.

The win was the third straight for the Spurs over New York. San Antonio has also taken six of its last seven meetings with the Knicks.
