NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, January 15th (All times eastern)

Sacramento Kings (14-20) at New York Knicks (16-22), 1 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Sacramento Kings try and stop a five-game losing streak when they open a four-game road trip this afternoon against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Sacramento suffered its fifth straight loss with Saturday's 115-111 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets at ARCO Arena. Ron Artest scored 34 points and Corliss Williamson recorded 30 points and 12 rebounds off the bench in the loss.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim netted 15 points and Kevin Martin added 14 points in the loss for the Kings, who will also visit Toronto, Boston and Detroit on the trek. Sacramento is last in the Pacific Division and 4-9 as the visitor this season.

Kings center Brad Miller (personal) is questionable for this afternoon's game.

The Knicks, meanwhile, had a three-game winning streak come to an end after Friday's 126-110 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats in the second contest of a three-game homestand.

Stephon Marbury finished with 28 points and Eddy Curry had 27 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks, who are 1-1 on the stand and 9-11 at Madison Square Garden this season. New York is also a game out of first place in the weak Atlantic Division.

Knicks center Jerome James is questionable for Monday's game with flu-like symptoms.

Sacramento posted a 112-100 win over the Knicks on January 2 this season at ARCO Arena and has won two straight, five of six and six of the last eight meetings.

The Kings have also won two in a row at MSG after losing their previous seven trips there.
