Washington Wizards (20-14) at New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (13-22), 8PM

(Sports Network) - The Washington Wizards open a short two-game homestand when they visit the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets at the Ford Center.

This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. Washington is scheduled to host the Hornets on March 17th at the Verizon Center.

Washington has lost nine straight at the Hornets. These teams have split the last six contests in this series.

The Wizards will try and win back-to-back-games this evening. Caron Butler finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as Washington defeated the Chicago Bulls, 113-103, at the Verizon Center.

All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas shot just 5-of-16 from the floor for 20 points in the win over the Bulls for Washington, while Antawn Jamison had 18 points and nine boards for the Wizards, who have won three of four and eight of their last 10 games overall.

Antonio Daniels contributed 15 points off the bench and DeShawn Stevenson netted 13 for Washington, which has won seven straight at home.

Washington is 6-11 on the road this season. The Wizards will visit the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday at the AT&T Center.

The Hornets also try and win consecutive games. Jannero Pargo came off the bench to notch 24 points and seven assists, as New Orleans/Oklahoma City downed the Atlanta Hawks, 96-77, on Wednesday at Philips Arena.

Rasual Butler netted 21 in the win over Atlanta for the Hornets, who stopped a five-game losing streak. Devin Brown poured in 16 points and Tyson Chandler ended with 14 points and nine rebounds in the victory.

Guard Bobby Jackson (cracked ribs) is questionable for tonight's contest. He has missed 19 games this season for the Hornets. Jackson is averaging 10.6 points per game.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City continues to play without star guard Chris Paul (sprained right ankle) and forwards Peja Stojakovic (lower back) and David West (right forearm/elbow). Paul, who was injured on December 26th, leads the team in scoring (18.4 ppg) and assists (9.0 apg). Stojakovic is averaging 17.8 points per game and last played on November 24th, while West (right forearm/elbow) is averaging 17.4 points and 8.3 rebounds, and has not played since November 12th.

The Hornets are 7-10 as the host this season. They will visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday at the Bradley Center.
