NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Wednesday, January 3rd (All times eastern)

Philadelphia 76ers (9-22) at Utah Jazz (22-9), 9 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers continue their season-long seven- game road trip when they stop off in Utah to face the Jazz tonight at EnergySolutions Arena.

This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Sixers are scheduled to host the Jazz on March 16th at the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia has lost four of five and 15 of its last 17 at Utah. The Jazz have won two in a row and five of the last six contests in this series.

The Sixers are 2-3 on the current swing. On Tuesday, Kyle Korver came off the bench and poured in 26 points as Philadelphia spoiled Allen Iverson's first game against his former team with a 108-97 win over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

Korver finished 10-of-20 from the floor, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists in the victory. Former Nugget Andre Miller scored 17 points and handed out 10 assists for Philadelphia, while Steven Hunter contributed 13 points.

Forward Chris Webber did not play against Denver and has missed three straight games with a bruised right foot. He is doubtful for tonight's contest. Webber is averaging 11.0 points and a team-best 8.3 rebounds.

Philadelphia is 5-15 on the road this season. The 76ers are scheduled to visit Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday at the Target Center.

Utah concludes a short two-game homestand. Mehmet Okur scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Jazz defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 96-86, on Saturday at EnergySolutions Arena.

Carlos Boozer scored 19 points and pulled down 10 boards in the win for Utah, which has won three of its last four games overall. Andrei Kirilenko ended with 14 points, while Derek Fisher and Paul Millsap scored 11 points apiece in the victory.

The Jazz are an impressive 13-2 at home this season. They will visit the Houston Rockets on Friday at the Toyota Center and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
