New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (20-22) at Memphis Grizzlies (25-17), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets try and halt a two- game losing streak this evening when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum.
The Hornets latest loss came on Wednesday, as they were routed, 84-68, by Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs at the Ford Center. David West and Rasual Butler paced New Orleans with 15 points apiece.
Chris Paul finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the loss, the Hornets' third in four games.
The Hornets also got some bad news off the court on Friday, as forward Chris Anderson was dismissed and disqualified from the NBA for violating the league's drug policy.
Anderson must wait two years before he can apply for reinstatement, the league said. According to the league's collective bargaining agreement, a player can only be disqualified for a fourth positive test for performance-enhancing drugs, or a first positive test for "drugs of abuse."
New Orleans/Oklahoma City, which will begin a three-game homestand on Monday in Milwaukee, is 8-14 away from home this season.
Memphis, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after getting run over by the NBA's best team, the Detroit Pistons, 95-89, on Friday at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Pau Gasol had 31 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for the Grizzlies, who have dropped two of their last three and six of their last eight.
Mike Miller added 20 points off the bench.
Memphis, which will be beginning a three-game homestand tonight, is 14-6 in its arena this season.
New Orleans has split its two matchups with the Grizzlies this season, but have won two of the last three meetings. The Hornets, though, have dropped four of the last five as the road team in this series and are just 2-5 in their last seven visits to Memphis.
