Memphis Grizzlies (41-31) at New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (33-37), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Memphis Grizzlies attempt to put the brakes on a two- game losing streak when they visit the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets tonight at the Ford Center.
On Wednesday, Richard Jefferson scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the New Jersey Nets beat the Grizzlies, 86-74, at Continental Airlines Arena. All-Star Pau Gasol scored 21 points for Memphis, while Bobby Jackson netted 18 in the loss.
Memphis is the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoff race. It trails the fifth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers by just one game.
The Grizzlies are 16-20 on the road this season. After tonight's game, Memphis returns to the FedExForum for a three-game homestand. It will host Atlanta, Golden State and Milwaukee on the upcoming stand.
New Orleans/Oklahoma City is two games behind the Sacramento Kings for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The Hornets return home after going 1-3 on a four-game road trip. On Wednesday, Rasual Butler scored 20 points as New Orleans/Oklahoma City edged the Warriors, 86-85, on Wednesday at The Arena in Oakland.
Rookie Chris Paul finished with 18 points in the win over Golden State for the Hornets, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Marc Jackson ended with 16 points, while P.J. Brown netted 12 and Aaron Williams scored10 in the victory.
The Hornets are 20-15 as the host this season.
This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the clubs. The teams split a pair of contests at Memphis, while the Hornets defeated the Grizzlies, 87-79, on January 18th at the Ford Center.
The Grizzlies have lost three of their last five at the Hornets, who have won three of the last four contests in this series.
