Dallas Mavericks (18-7) at Sacramento Kings (10-15), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Sacramento Kings try and halt a three-game losing streak this evening when they start a brief two-game homestand against the Dallas Mavericks at ARCO Arena.
The Kings' latest setback came on Monday, as they were upended in overtime by the Charlotte Bobcats, 106-103.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 32 points and Mike Bibby added 23, eight rebounds and eight assists, but missed a potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation and possible tying attempt at the conclusion of overtime.
Abdur-Rahim's bank shot got Sacramento within 106-103 with 32.5 seconds left in overtime. Gerald Wallace then missed a shot from the right corner, but Bibby barely had enough time to race across midcourt and his shot caromed off the backboard as the final buzzer sounded.
To make matters worse guard Bonzi Wells suffered a knee injury in the opening quarter and will miss the next three-to-four weeks. Also, forward Peja Stojakovic is expected to be out a week with a back injury.
The Kings, who will close the stand against Portland on Monday, are 7-7 in their arena this season.
Dallas, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note as well after Kobe Bryant lit it up for 62 points on Tuesday in a 112-90 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at the AmericanAirlines Center.
Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points and 11 rebounds while Devin Harris also chipped in 18 points and added five rebounds for the Mavericks, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The Mavericks, who will close a three-game road trip on Friday against Seattle, are 8-4 away from home this season.
Dallas won three of four matchups with the Kings last season and has won seven of the last nine meetings. The Mavs have also had success in ARCO, where they have won three of five and six of nine.
