(Sports Network) - The Portland Trail Blazers hope to halt their season-worst eight-game losing streak when they welcome the struggling Sacramento Kings tonight to the Rose Garden.
On Sunday, All-Star Elton Brand scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Trail Blazers, 97-83, at the Rose Garden.
Travis Outlaw tied a season-high with 19 points in the loss to the Clippers for the Trail Blazers, who have dropped 18 of their last 20 contests overall. Rookie Jarrett Jack scored 16 points, while Juan Dixon netted 15 and Brian Skinner pulled down 10 boards.
Portland, which plays the third of a four-game homestand, is 14-20 at home this season. The Trail Blazers, who have lost three in a row in front of their fans, will host the Utah Jazz on Saturday at the Rose Garden.
The Kings, who are No. 8 in the Western Conference playoff race, play the first of a brief two-game road trip. On Tuesday, Caron Butler scored 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Washington Wizards downed the Kings, 97-84, at ARCO Arena.
Mike Bibby ended with 20 points, while Brad Miller and Francisco Garcia each netted 14 in the loss to Washington for the Kings, who have lost three of their last four games overall.
Sacramento, which will visit Golden State on Friday, is 12-23 on the road this season.
This is the third and final meeting of the campaign between the squads. In the two previous contests, the teams split a pair of games at ARCO Arena.
These two teams have split the last six meetings at Portland, while Sacramento has lost six of nine and 15 of its last 19 as the visitor against the Trail Blazers.
