San Antonio Spurs (28-9) at Memphis Grizzlies (23-12), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies play the finale of a home-and-home set tonight at FedExForum.
On Saturday, Tim Duncan's layup with 7.2 seconds remaining gave the Spurs an 80-79 victory over the Grizzlies at the AT&T Center. Duncan scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Manu Ginobili tallied 20 points and dished out seven assists for San Antonio, which has won two of its last three games.
Michael Finley added 12 points and Tony Parker contributed 10 points in the victory over Memphis for the Spurs, who have won two of three and seven of their last nine games overall.
Pau Gasol scored a game-high 26 points and Bobby Jackson ended with 19 points in the loss for Memphis, which had its two-game winning streak halted. Eddie Jones notched a double-double with 16 points and a season-high 10 assists, while Mike Miller tallied 10 points off the bench for the Grizzlies.
In the final 10 seconds, both clubs' marquee player hit big shots, but Duncan's proved to be the difference. Gasol's slam with 8.5 ticks remaining gave Memphis a 79-78 advantage and San Antonio called a timeout to set up a final play.
Ginobili inbounded the ball on the right sideline and threw a perfect pass at the basket for Duncan, who jumped over Gasol and converted the layup to push the Spurs in front by one with 7.2 seconds to play. Jackson missed a jumper at the buzzer for Memphis.
San Antonio is 10-7 as the visitor this season, while Memphis is 13-5 as the host.
The teams will play twice more this season. The Spurs will visit the Grizzlies on February 24th and will host Memphis on April 9th.
The Spurs have won two of the last three meetings in this series, while Memphis has won five of the last seven contests. San Antonio has lost four straight after winning its last 13 at the Grizzlies.
