NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, November 20th (All times eastern)

Chicago Bulls (3-5) at Los Angeles Lakers (4-5), 9:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers play the third contest of a five- game homestand, as they welcome the Chicago Bulls tonight to the Staples Center.

This is the first of two contests between the clubs in the 2005-06 campaign. On December 9, the Bulls are scheduled to welcome the Lakers to the United Center.

The Lakers, who are 1-1 on the current stand, have lost four of their last five games overall. On Friday, Elton Brand scored 23 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, as the Clippers continued their best start in franchise history with more success against their Los Angeles rivals with a 97-91 triumph over the Lakers at the Staples Center.

All-Star Kobe Bryant scored 36 points, but went just 12-of-35 from the field, including 1-of-6 from three-point range in the loss to the Clippers for the Lakers. Lamar Odom added 18 points and Chris Mihm totaled 12 points and nine rebounds in defeat.

The Lakers are 2-2 as the host this season. They will also host Seattle and the New Jersey on the stand.

Chicago, which will play the fourth contest of six-game road trip, will try and halt a three-game losing streak. On Friday, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis each scored 27 points to lead the SuperSonics over the Bulls, 98-84, at KeyArena.

Luol Deng netted 16 and Mike Sweetney finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, who wasted an 11-point halftime lead to fall to 0-3 on their road trip.

The Bulls are 0-4 on the road this season. They will visit San Antonio and Houston in the final two contests of the current swing.

The Lakers have won four of the last six meetings in this series. Chicago has dropped three straight and seven of its last eight at the Lakers.
