Miami Heat (30-19) at Dallas Mavericks (38-10), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The red-hot Dallas Mavericks go for their 13th straight win when they welcome the Miami Heat tonight to American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks are on their longest winning streak since capturing a franchise- best 14 straight to open the 2002-03 campaign.
Dallas plays the finale of a three-game homestand. Dirk Nowitzki poured in 26 points and pulled down 12 boards to lead the red-hot Mavericks to their 12th straight win, 102-87 over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday at American Airlines Center.
Josh Howard finished with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field in the win over the Lakers for Dallas. Howard also pulled down 10 rebounds and handed out four assists.
Jerry Stackhouse ended with 14 points off the bench, while Jason Terry and Devin Harris each netted 10 in the victory for the Mavericks.
The Mavericks are 19-4 as the host this season. They have won eight in a row at American Airlines Center.
After tonight's game, Dallas visits the Denver Nuggets on Friday before returning home for a six-game stand. The Mavericks are scheduled to host New York, Washington, the Clippers, Memphis, Toronto and Philadelphia on the future homestand.
Miami tries to win its second straight game. On Monday, Dwyane Wade collected 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to lead the Heat over the Boston Celtics, 114-98, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Shaquille O'Neal registered 21 points and Udonis Haslem netted 17 in the win over Boston for the Heat, who have won five of their last six games overall. Antoine Walker recorded 12 points and seven rebounds against his former club, as Miami shot 50.6 percent from the field and committed just seven turnovers in the victory.
The Heat are 13-13 as the visitor this season. They return home for a pair of games after tonight's contest. Miami will host Detroit on Sunday and Orlando on Tuesday.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 25th, Howard finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and sparked a key fourth-quarter run as Dallas defeated the Heat, 103-90, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
The Mavericks have won three straight and six of the last seven meetings in this series. Miami has lost three straight and four of its last five at Dallas.
