Detroit Pistons (26-5) at New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (15-18), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons hope to rebound from a rare loss when they visit the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets tonight at the Ford Center.
Detroit plays the first of a brief two-game road trip. On Saturday, Andrei Kirilenko equaled a season-high with 24 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists, as Utah earned a season sweep of the Pistons with a 94-90 overtime win at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Chauncey Billups finished with 24 points and eight assists, but failed to capitalize on a potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation in the loss to the Jazz for Detroit, which lost for just the second time in its last 13 games.
The Pistons, who will visit Tim Duncan and the defending world champion San Antonio Spurs on Thursday at the SBC Center, are an impressive 12-3 on the road this season. They are 2-2 in their last four games as the visitor.
New Orleans/Oklahoma City tries to get back on the winning track when it plays the opener of a two-game homestand. On Saturday, Al Harrington scored 24 points and Joe Johnson added 20 in Atlanta's 101-93 victory over the Hornets at Philips Arena.
Speedy Claxton led the Hornets with a career-high 29 points in the loss to Atlanta. David West had 22 points and nine rebounds, but the Hornets had a three-game winning streak broken and lost for the fourth consecutive time on the road.
The Hornets are 10-6 as the host this season. They are scheduled to host Brad Miller and the Sacramento Kings on Friday in the finale of the short stand.
This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Hornets are scheduled to host the Pistons on April 4th at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit, which has won three of the last five meetings in this series, The Pistons have won seven of their last 10 at the Hornets.
