Charlotte Bobcats (2-5) at Orlando Magic (2-4), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats will try and put the brakes on a four-game losing streak this evening when they wrap up a two-game road trip against the Orlando Magic at the TD Waterhouse Centre.
Charlotte's most recent setback occurred on Saturday, as the Bobcats dropped a 108-99 decision to the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. Sean May had 18 points to lead Charlotte, which has lost five of seven on the season. Kareem Rush added 15 points, while Kevin Burleson and Primoz Brezec scored 11 apiece.
Charlotte made things interesting late, as it scored 17 straight points to cut the deficit to 104-97 with 30 seconds left on a reverse layup by Bernard Robinson, but Gary Payton and Jason Williams each hit two free throws to stop the rally.
On the injury front forward Gerald Wallace (wrist), the team's leading scorer, missed his second straight game with a chipped bone in his right wrist. He is not expected to play tonight either.
The Bobcats, who will begin a home-and-home with the Indiana Pacers in Charlotte on Wednesday, are 1-2 away from home this season.
Orlando, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note as well after falling to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, 108-100, in overtime on Sunday.
Dwight Howard led the Magic with 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, as the loss snapped Orlando's two-game win streak. Steve Francis netted 22 points and also had seven assists in defeat.
Francis had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but he missed a long fade-away jump shot, sending the game into overtime.
Cleveland, though, opened the extra session with a 6-0 run and outscored Orlando 20-12 in overtime to secure the win.
The Magic are winless in three games at home this season. The 0-3 home start is the team's worst since beginning the 2003-04 campaign with 11 consecutive losses in its arena.
Charlotte took three of four from Orlando last season.
