NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Friday, November 11th (All times eastern)

Dallas Mavericks (2-2) at Charlotte Bobcats (2-3), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats try and avoid their third straight loss this evening when they welcome the Dallas Mavericks to Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

The Bobcats' latest loss came on Wednesday, as they dropped a 94-86 decision to the San Antonio Spurs.

Forward Gerald Wallace was not expected to play in this game after suffering a concussion against Utah Monday. He not only suited up, but scored 15 points to lead his team.

Primoz Brezec had 13 points and seven rebounds for Charlotte, which has dropped two straight. Brevin Knight added 10 points and eight assists for the Bobcats, while Emeka Okafor finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Charlotte, which will wrap up a four-game homestand tonight, is 1-2 in its arena this season.

The Mavericks, meanwhile, come into tonight's affair on a losing note after falling to the Philadelphia 76ers, 112-97 on Wednesday.

Reserve Keith Van Horn led Dallas with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Jason Terry went 3-for-5 from behind the arc and finished with 15 points for Dallas, which has dropped two of its last three.

To make matters worse forward Dirk Nowitzki left the game with a back injury in the second quarter and did not return. X-rays though showed no problem with the spine and will be a game-time decision tonight.

Dallas, which will close a three-game road trip against New Orleans/Oklahoma City on Saturday, is 1-2 away from home this season.

The Mavericks took both meetings from the Hornets last season.
