Dallas Mavericks (23-8) at Minnesota Timberwolves (14-14), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks target their third straight win this evening when they start a brief two-game road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
On Tuesday, Dirk Nowitzki connected on 10-of-14 shots for 22 points and also pulled down eight rebounds, as Dallas defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 95-81, at American Airlines Center.
Jason Terry also scored 22 points and handed out seven assists, and Josh Howard netted 21 for the Mavericks, who have won five of their last six games and 13 of their last 16.
Nowitzki, who is averaging 21.0 points in 26 career games against the Wolves, hit his only free throw attempt, which was his 50th straight shot from the charity stripe to set a new franchise record.
All the news was not good, as guard Devin Harris was forced to exit with a sprained right thumb. He is questionable for tonight's contest.
The Mavericks, who will close this trip in Denver on Friday, are 11-4 away from home this season.
Minnesota, meanwhile, comes in on a sour note after falling to the Miami Heat, 97-70, on Sunday at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Kevin Garnett was held to 11 points and 11 boards and Wally Szczerbiak had a team-high 19 points for the Timberwolves, who have dropped two in a row and eight of 10.
Minnesota, which will start a three-game road trip after tonight's tilt, is 9-6 in its arena this season.
Dallas topped the T-Wolves earlier in the season and could have the advantage tonight as the road team in this series has won four of the last five meetings.
