Miami Heat (29-18) at New Jersey Nets (23-21), 1 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Miami Heat take aim at their fifth consecutive win this afternoon when they visit the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena.
On Thursday, Dwyane Wade recorded 24 points and fellow All- Star starter Shaquille O'Neal had 21 as Miami stopped Cleveland's seven-game win streak with an impressive 101-73 victory at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Wade and O'Neal, both of whom were announced Thursday as two of the Eastern Conference's starting five for this year's midseason extravaganza, combined to go 21-of-35 from the field. The pair also helped fuel a 22-0 run that bridged and first and second quarters and sent the Heat to their sixth win in seven tries.
James Posey finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds to aid in the triumph.
Point guard Jason Williams returned after missing four straight games after receiving stitches on his ring finger following a weight lifting accident and had eight assists in nearly 27 minutes.
The Heat, who will host the Boston Celtics on Monday, are 13-12 away from home this season.
New Jersey, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after falling to the Cavs, 91-85, at home on Wednesday. Vince Carter scored a game-high 29 points and Richard Jefferson donated 19 points for the Nets, who have lost nine of their last 13 contests.
Jason Kidd added 14 points, five rebounds and three steals and Nenad Krstic netted 12 in the loss.
New Jersey, which will be starting a five-game homestand tonight, is 13-6 in its arena this season.
The Nets have split their two matchups with the Heat this season and should have the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won nine of 12 and 12 of the last 17 meetings. Miami has also lost seven of 10 and eight of its last 12 in the Garden State.
