Los Angeles Lakers (31-30) at New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (31-28), 8 PM
(Sports Network) - The Hornets return to New Orleans tonight, as they host the Los Angeles Lakers at New Orleans Arena.
The last time the Hornets played in New Orleans was on April 20, 2005 when they lost to the Clippers, 86-75.
New Orleans/Oklahoma City enters tonight's game on a three-game losing streak. On Monday, Boris Diaw had 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 101-88 win over the Hornets at the Ford Center.
David West had 22 points and eight boards and rookie phenom Chris Paul ended with 14 points and 11 assists for the Hornets, who scored just nine points in the final quarter and have lost five of their last seven games overall.
The Hornets are 19-10 at home this season. They are scheduled to host the Indiana Pacers on Friday and the New Jersey Nets on Sunday at the Ford Center.
The Lakers hope to get back on the winning track as they play the first of a brief two-game road trip. On Monday, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Michael Finley all netted 21 points to help lead the San Antonio Spurs over the Lakers, 103-96, at the AT&T Center.
Kobe Bryant had a game-high 43 points on 17-of-32 shooting in the loss to San Antonio for the Lakers, who lost for the first time in three games. Lamar Odom ended with 13 points in defeat.
Bryant has scored over 20 points in 41 straight games and has netted 35 or more in his last four outings.
The Lakers, who are scheduled to visit the Spurs on Friday at the AT&T Center, are 14-18 as the visitor this season.
This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On February 4th, Paul finished with 19 points, seven rebounds 13 assists to lead New Orleans/Oklahoma City over the Lakers, 106-90, at the Ford Center.
The Lakers are scheduled to host the Hornets on March 26th and April 19th in the final two meetings between the squads this season.
