San Antonio Spurs (46-12) at Los Angeles Lakers (31-29), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The streaking San Antonio Spurs go for their seventh straight win tonight as they visit the Los Angeles Lakers tonight at the Staples Center.
The Spurs play the opener of a three-game road trip. On Saturday, Tim Duncan had 22 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks as San Antonio crushed the Portland Trail Blazers, 101-81, at the AT&T Center.
Tony Parker added 18 points and five assists and Manu Ginobili scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds in the victory over Portland for the Spurs, who have won six straight and 15 of their last 17 games overall.
San Antonio is an impressive 20-9 as the visitor this season. The Spurs are scheduled to visit the Clippers on Tuesday and the Phoenix Suns on Thursday. They have won 10 of their last 12 on the road.
The Lakers enter tonight's game on a two-game winning streak. On Saturday, Kobe Bryant scored 40 points and Lamar Odom had 24 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the Lakers over the Detroit Pistons, 105-94, at the Staples Center.
Chris Mihm added 12 points and Brian Cook scored 10 in the win over Detroit for the Lakers, who used an 18-0 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters to turn a 10-point deficit into an eight-point lead that they would never relinquish.
Bryant has scored over 20 points in 40 straight games and has netted 35 or more in his last three contests.
The Lakers are 17-11 as the host this season. They have won two in a row and four of their last five at home.
This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 29th, Manu Ginobili had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Spurs to a 90-84 home victory over the Lakers.
San Antonio has won six straight in this series. The Spurs have captured three in a row and five of their last six contests at the Lakers.
