Minnesota Timberwolves (7-6) at Los Angeles Lakers (6-8), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves begin a four-game road trip tonight, as they visit the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.
This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 9th, Kevin Garnett scored 17 points and ripped down 15 rebounds, as the Timberwolves knocked off the Lakers, 88-74, at the Target Center.
The Lakers come into tonight's game off a solid win. Sasha Vujacic hit the go- ahead three-pointer with 20.1 seconds left in overtime, as the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz, 105-101, at the Delta Center. Kobe Bryant made two controversial free throws in the last second of regulation and finished with 30 points on 11-of-31 shooting for Los Angeles. Bryant also had seven rebounds before fouling out with 2:07 left in overtime.
Smush Parker added 21 points and Lamar Odom had a solid night with 12 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in the win over Utah for the Lakers, who snapped a two-game skid.
LA is 3-4 at home. The Lakers are scheduled to host Emeka Okafor and the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday at the Staples Center.
Minnesota will try and get back on the winning track tonight. On Tuesday, Corey Maggette scored 30 points and added 10 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Timberwolves, 93-84, at the Target Center.
All-Star Kevin Garnett had 29 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to the Clippers for Minnesota, while Marko Jaric added 17 points and six assists for the Timberwolves, who had a two-game winning streak halted
The Timberwolves are 1-4 as the visitor. They will also visit Sacramento, Utah and Portland on the current swing.
Minnesota has won two straight and five of the last eight meetings in this season. The Timberwolves have lost three of five and 19 of their last 22 at the Lakers.
