Charlotte Bobcats (16-43) at Dallas Mavericks (45-12), 8:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks try to rebound from a rare loss tonight, as they welcome the Charlotte Bobcats to American Airlines Center.
Dallas hopes to increase its franchise-record home winning streak to 16 games this evening. The Mavericks are an awesome 26-4 at home this season, and have not lost at American Airlines Center since December 30th when they were defeated by the Golden State Warriors.
On Thursday, Tony Parker finished with 23 points to lead San Antonio past Dallas, 98-89, in a matchup between the two top teams in the NBA's Western Conference at the AT&T Center.
Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry each posted 23 points in the loss to San Antonio for the Mavericks, who lost for the first time in seven games and for just the second time in their last 21 outings. Josh Howard netted 15, while Jerry Stackhouse scored 10 in defeat.
The Mavericks and Spurs are tied for first place in the Southwest Division.
The Bobcats play the finale of a six-game road trip this evening. They are 2-3 on the current swing.
Brevin Knight finished with 19 points and 10 assists, while Gerald Wallace also scored 19 to lead the Bobcats over the Utah Jazz, 104-89, on Wednesday at the Delta Center.
Primoz Brezec contributed 16 points in the win over Utah for the Bobcats, who ended a two-game slide and won for just the second time in nine games overall. Rookie Raymond Felton and Jumaine Jones each ended with 11 points for Charlotte.
Charlotte is a dismal 6-25 on the road this season. It is 2-8 in its last 10 away from home.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 11th, Nowitzki registered a game-high 23 points and 16 rebounds as Dallas defeated the Bobcats, 98-88, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
The Mavericks have won all three meetings between the clubs.
