Seattle SuperSonics (28-11) at Los Angeles Lakers (22-16), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers try for their third consecutive win tonight when they welcome the Seattle SuperSonics to the Staples Center.
Los Angeles, which remains without injured star Kobe Bryant, has won six of its last eight games overall -- three-of-four since Bryant went down with a sprained right ankle.
On Friday, Chucky Atkins scored 26 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the Lakers to a 105-101 home win over the Golden State Warriors. Lamar Odom added 25 points for the Lakers.
Jumaine Jones had 16 points and nine boards and Caron Butler tallied 14 points and nine rebounds for Los Angeles, which has won six of seven at home.
Atkins shot 9-for-18 from the floor, including a 4-for-11 clip from beyond the arc. He has been the catalyst since Bryant went down, averaging 22.2 points and 7.8 assists in the last four games.
On Wednesday the Lakers will take on the Clippers at Staples Center, in what will technically be a road game.
Seattle, meanwhile, hopes to win its second straight after ending a two-game slide with a 122-105 win over Utah on Sunday. The victory gave the Sonics a 3-2 record on a five-game homestand.
Against the Jazz, Rashard Lewis recorded 36 points and Antonio Daniels delivered 24 along with eight assists off the bench to lead the effort. Ray Allen added 20 points for the SuperSonics, who buried 13-of-22 three-point attempts as a team.
Lewis made 7-of-8 shots from beyond the arc and finished with 21 second-half points to thwart a comeback attempt by the Jazz in the third quarter.
The Sonics, who lead the Northwest Division by seven games over second-place Minnesota, will visit Utah on Wednesday.
Seattle defeated LA, 108-93, on December 14 at KeyArena, snapping a three-game series losing streak.
