Denver Nuggets (23-27) at New Jersey Nets (21-29), 6 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets try to keep moving forward under George Karl this evening when they visit the New Jersey Nets at the Meadowlands.
Denver is 6-2 since Karl took over on the bench, and has won three of the last four games. On Friday, Earl Boykins scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half and dished out eight assists to lead Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets to a 106-101 victory over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Gund Arena.
Kenyon Martin added 19 for Denver, while Anthony pitched in with 14 points. James outdueled Anthony in the battle of the super sophomores, scoring a game- high 35 points, but Anthony got the win.
With the game tied at 85-85 in the fourth quarter, Denver scored eight straight points to take the lead for good.
The Nuggets, just 8-18 on the road, will play the third portion of a five-game trip tonight. They will visit Atlanta on Tuesday.
New Jersey, meanwhile, closes out a five-game home set today. The Nets won the first two portions, but have dropped the last two against the Lakers and Spurs.
On Friday New Jersey was handed a 101-91 loss by the Spurs. San Antonio's Tony Parker scored 17 of his team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter, as the Spurs rallied from a 15-point deficit to take the victory.
Vince Carter poured in a season-high 43 points before being ejected in the fourth quarter for the Nets. He was tossed early in the final period after picking up his second technical foul with 9:45 remaining. Carter got tangled up with the Spurs' Bruce Bowen and began yelling toward the opposing bench to spark the ejection.
New Jersey, 12-11 at home, will visit Minnesota on Tuesday.
Denver toppled New Jersey, 90-88, on November 23 at the Pepsi Center to snap a five-game series losing streak.
The Nuggets have, however, lost in four straight trips to the Meadowlands.
