NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, January 11th (All times eastern)

Charlotte Bobcats (8-22) at Cleveland Cavaliers (20-12), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Cleveland Cavaliers try for their fourth consecutive win this evening when they wrap up a three-game homestand versus the expansion Charlotte Bobcats at Gund Arena.

Cleveland will also be trying to sweep the season-series from the Bobcats, having already won the first three matchups. LeBron James has been a huge reason behind Cleveland's success against the Bobcats, as the defending Rookie of the Year has posted 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists against Charlotte this season.

The Cavaliers continued to roll on Saturday, as James scored a game- high 22 points and Cleveland throttled the New York Knicks, 104-79. Lucious Harris had 16 points off the bench and Ira Newble chipped in 14 for the Cavs, who have won three straight and six of their last eight games.

Jeff McInnis netted 13 points in the win.

Cleveland, which will hit the road for six games following tonight's contest, has won four of five and 13 of its last 15 home games and is 13-3 in its arena this season.

Charlotte, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after dropping a 111-91 decision to the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Primoz Brezec had 18 points to lead the Bobcats, who failed to follow up Wednesday night's win against Minnesota with another victory. Kareem Rush added 15 points for Charlotte, which has lost eight of 10 and 12 of 16.

The Bobcats also fell to just 3-18 on the year when they fail to score 100 points or more.

This was also the second battle of the season between the top two picks in the most recent NBA draft. Orlando's Dwight Howard, the first pick, outdueled Charlotte's Emeka Okafor, who after recording 19 straight double- doubles, has failed to register the feat in two of his last three games.

Okafor could be in for another rough evening, as he is averaging just 10.7 points and seven rebounds in his three games versus the Cavs this season.

Charlotte has dropped four straight on the road and is 1-14 away from home this season.
