Orlando Magic (1-0) at Miami Heat (1-1), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - A battle of Eastern Conference heavyweights will take place tonight in south Florida, where the star-studded Miami Heat play their home opener versus the Orlando Magic from AmericanAirlines Arena.
Miami lost its much-anticipated debut on Tuesday in Boston before bouncing back with Wednesday's 97-87 victory at Philadelphia thanks to 30 points from Dwyane Wade and 20 out of reserve James Jones.
"He was letting the game come to him," Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra said of Wade. "He is a feel type player and I think he felt a lot more comfortable tonight and was able to get to the rim."
Chris Bosh had 15 points and seven rebounds, while LeBron James contributed 16 points one night after dropping 31 on the Celtics. The Heat shot 47.8 percent from the floor in the win.
The Heat will play just two home games in their first six games of the season.
Orlando, meanwhile, will hit the road for two games at Miami and New York, and recorded a 112-83 triumph versus Washington in its season opener on Thursday.
Dwight Howard finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Magic, who ended with a 53-25 rebounding advantage and shot 55.8 percent from the floor. Vince Carter had 18 points and Jameer Nelson ended with 16 points and six assists for Orlando.
The Magic were also able to contain heralded Wizards rookie John Wall, who ended with 14 points and nine assists.
"I'll tell you what, he's quicker than a blink," Carter said of Wall. "He's a young guy who seems like he has a great feel for the game. He's not afraid to really be the point guard, be the floor general out there. That's the first stage of it, is not being afraid to run a team. He looked like he was comfortable enough to do that."
Miami and Orlando split four meetings a year ago, but the Magic have won 15 of the previous 20 contests in this series.
