NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, April 12th (All times eastern)

Washington Wizards (25-55) at New York Knicks (28-52), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - A pair of teams winding down the season get together tonight in the Big Apple, where the New York Knicks will host the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have lost three in a row and seven of nine games, and are coming off Sunday's 111-98 decision to the Miami Heat at MSG. David Lee finished with 26 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Danilo Gallinari had 19 points and seven boards for New York, which is 17-23 at home and will close out the season Wednesday in Toronto.

"It's about trying to have some momentum coming into next season," Lee said of the team's remaining schedule.

Bill Walker scored 18 points and Earl Barron provided 13 and 12 rebounds in a losing cause.

Washington will visit New York before hosting Indiana in the season finale on Wednesday, and suffered a 105-95 loss versus Atlanta the last time out on Saturday at the Verizon Center.

Andray Blatche had 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead the Wizards, who were coming off Friday's win at Boston and entered the game with three wins in four tries.

"It doesn't mean anything unless we get a win," Blatche said. "Nobody wants to stick around the whole game and then lose, and then say, 'Hey, we were around.' You want to win."

Nick Young added 23 points, 19 of which came in the first half, in defeat. The Wizards are 11-29 away from DC this season. In 30 games since the All-Star break, Blatche has averaged 22.1 points and 8.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

New York has won two of three meetings with Washington this season and eight of the past 11 matchups in the series. The Wizards are winless in their last four visits to Madison Square Garden. Blatche is averaging 16.7 points and 10.0 rebounds in three games versus the Knicks this season.

Lee is averaging 23.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and five assists versus Washington in 2009-10.
