Detroit Pistons (5-8) at Phoenix Suns (10-3), 8 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons hope to salvage the finale of a four- game road trip Sunday when they take on the Pacific Division-leading Phoenix Suns.
The Pistons fell to 0-3 on their trip Saturday in Salt Lake City when Carlos Boozer and Andrei Kirilenko totaled 22 points each and combined to score all 10 Jazz points in overtime, as Utah pulled out a 100-97 win over Detroit.
Ben Gordon ended with a game-high 25 points, and Rodney Stuckey went for 18 and six assists for the Pistons, who lost for a fourth straight time. Charlie Villanueva posted 17 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
"It's tough. I can't speak for everybody, but for me it's tough losing," Gordon said. Whenever we lose, every single game, I'm replaying it over and over in my mind until we get back home. It's just tough, man, especially being so close. We're right there against the great teams, against the solid-good teams."
The Suns, who lead the Pacific by one-half game over the LA Lakers, dropped their most recent outing in New Orleans on Thursday when Peja Stojakovic nailed 7-of-11 three-point tries and recorded 25 points and 13 rebounds to carry the Hornets to a 110-103 victory over Phoenix.
Amare Stoudemire led seven Suns in double figures with 23 points, and Jared Dudley hit five three-pointers en route to a 17-point effort for the Suns, who dropped just their third game this season.
Steve Nash doled out 10 assists to go with 13 points in defeat.
"I don't think there was anything that happened that we didn't warn our guys about. They (the Hornets) were embarrassed by the way they performed at our place, you knew they were going to play better here. No doubt in my mind; Chris Paul, or no Chris Paul, it doesn't matter," said Phoenix head coach Alvin Gentry.
Phoenix, which is a perfect 4-0 at home on the season, swept the home-and-home series between the two clubs a year ago. Detroit, however, has won in seven of its last nine trips to the Valley of the Sun.
