NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Saturday, December 26th (All times eastern)

Memphis Grizzlies (13-15) at Dallas Mavericks (20-9), 3 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Memphis Grizzlies try for their fourth straight win tonight, when they pay a visit to the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

Memphis completed a perfect three-game homestand with a 121-108 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday at FedEx Forum, as Zach Randolph scored a season-high 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the charge.

Marc Gasol added 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while O.J. Mayo chipped in 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Memphis, which has won seven of its last 10 games. Rudy Gay had 16 points and Mike Conley ended with 11 points and six assists in the win.

"We feel like we got to beat teams like this and try to get back to .500. These games are real important for us," Randolph said after the Grizzlies pushed their mark to 13-15.

The Grizzlies hope to improve on their 4-10 road mark Saturday.

Dallas, meanwhile, has lost two of three games since a five-game winning streak and is coming off Tuesday's 85-81 setback versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

Dirk Nowitzki posted 27 points and nine rebounds, while Jose Juan Barea chipped in 22 points for Dallas, which welcomed Nowitzki back after the star forward missed a game with a sore right elbow. The Southwest Division-leading Mavs are 1-2 on a four-game homestand and own a 10-5 mark as the host this season. Dallas guard Jason Kidd (back) is questionable against the Grizzlies.

"It's disappointing, especially at home," Barea said. "We just didn't come out. They were playing harder than us. We let that one go tonight."

The Mavericks lead the division by three games over Houston. Memphis is last in the standings at 6 1/2 games off the pace.

Memphis defeated Dallas, 98-82, on December 4 this season and has won the previous three meetings between the teams. The Mavs, however, are unbeaten in the last seven matchups as the host in this series.
