(Sports Network) - The Southeast Division-champion Orlando Magic are getting ready for the postseason and will entertain the New York Knicks Friday night at Amway Arena.
Orlando is third in the Eastern Conference standings, just one game behind the No. 2 Boston Celtics. The Magic have won three of four and nine of their last 11 games, including an 81-78 victory versus Memphis on Wednesday behind Hedo Turkoglu's game-high 20 points and seven assists.
Dwight Howard added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic, who bounced back from a 93-83 loss at Houston on Tuesday. J.J. Redick ended with nine points off the bench in a winning effort. The Magic are 31-8 as the host this season.
The Knicks are out of playoff contention and will open a quick two-game road trip Friday versus Orlando and Miami. They are 11-28 away from Madison Square Garden this season and have dropped two straight and six of the last seven games.
In a 113-86 setback versus Detroit at home on Wednesday, Al Harrington ended with 26 points and Wilson Chandler contributed 23 and eight boards in defeat. David Lee had nine points and four boards for New York, which could be without forward Jared Jeffries on Friday because of a lacerated left eyelid.
Orlando is 3-0 against New York this season and has won 11 of the past 15 matchups between the teams.
New York has lost three straight and six of its last seven as the visitor in this series.
