Miami Heat (39-36) at Charlotte Bobcats (34-41), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats are still in the hunt for the first playoff berth in franchise history and will continue their quest Friday versus the Miami Heat at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Charlotte is 1 1/2 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and had its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 111-109 double-overtime loss at Boston on Wednesday. Celtics veteran Ray Allen scored 11 of his 22 points in extra time and buried a game-winning three-pointer from the right corner with 2.1 seconds left.
Gerald Wallace had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte, while Boris Diaw posted 17 points, eight assists and seven boards in a losing cause and Raymond Felton finished with 14 points and 12 assists.
The Bobcats are 22-17 as the host this season.
The Heat will continue a three-game road trip tonight in Charlotte and are just 13-24 away from home this season. They are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, three games ahead of Detroit and only a half-game in back of Philadelphia.
Miami has lost two straight, four of five and seven of their last 10 games, including a 98-96 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday in the opener of the road swing.
Dwyane Wade scored 23 points and handed out six assists for the Heat, who got 18 points, six rebounds and five assists from Mario Chalmers. Michael Beasley posted 17 points in a losing cause.
Miami will also visit Washington on its current trek.
The Heat have won two of three meetings with the Bobcats this season and 12 of the 19 matchups in the series. Charlotte has won the last four encounters as the host against Miami.
