(Sports Network) - The slumping Sacramento Kings will try to stop a five-game slide when they resume a three-game homestand Sunday versus the Dallas Mavericks at ARCO Arena.
Sacramento opened the residency with Friday's 119-115 overtime loss versus the Miami Heat, as Spencer Hawes tied a career-high with 19 points for the Kings, who have dropped 11 of 12 overall. John Salmons chipped in 29 points and Kevin Martin added 28 in defeat.
Brad Miller notched nine points and 15 boards in a losing effort. The Kings will also host the Orlando Magic and are 6-12 as the host this season.
Dallas will attempt to get back on the winning track when it continues a three-game road trip Sunday. It had a two-game winning streak stopped in the opener of the trek on Friday when Shaquille O'Neal posted 25 points, 10 rebounds and made all seven of his foul shots to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 128-100 blowout victory.
Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points for Dallas, which fell to 10-8 away from home this season. Josh Howard scored 16 points before leaving early in the third quarter with a sprained left wrist. Jason Kidd registered 15 points and seven assists.
Howard is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Sacramento. The Mavs will also visit the Denver Nuggets on the road swing.
The Mavericks recorded a 101-78 win at Sacramento on November 29 this season and have won two straight and eight of the past nine meetings. They have scored more than 100 points in 20 of the last 22 matchups.
Sacramento has dropped 10 of 15 games as the host in this series.
