NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, March 3rd (All times eastern)

Toronto Raptors (23-38) at Houston Rockets (38-22), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The red-hot Houston Rockets hope to creep closer to the top of the Southwest Division Tuesday when they welcome the reeling Toronto Raptors to the Toyota Center.

The Rockets, who are just 2 1/2 games behind San Antonio in the Southwest, won for the seventh time in eight tries Sunday in Minneapolis when Aaron Brooks scored 22 points and doled out 10 assists, as Houston extended its winning streak over the Minnesota Timberwolves to seven games with a 105-94 triumph.

Ron Artest poured in 23 points and Yao Ming finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets, who bounced back from a tough loss at Chicago on Saturday. Luis Scola had 15 points and 11 boards in the win.

The Raptors, meanwhile, fell to 0-2 on a three-game road trip on Sunday when Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Mavs continued their home dominance over road-weary Toronto with a 109-98 victory.

Chris Bosh notched 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Toronto, which has lost four of the last six games. The Raptors are 0-2 on their trek and fell to a miserable 11-22 on the road this season.

Andrea Bargnani had 18 points and seven rebounds while Joey Graham added 14 points in a losing cause.

The Raptors routed Houston in Toronto, 94-73, earlier this season and have won five of the past seven meetings in the series. The Rockets have been very good at home this season, however, compiling a 24-6 mark at the Toyota Center.
