Los Angeles Lakers (22-5) at New Orleans Hornets (16-7), 8:00 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles Lakers conclude a tough four-game road trip Tuesday when they arrive in the Big Easy to face the New Orleans Hornets.
The Lakers improved to 1-2 on the trek Monday in Memphis when Kobe Bryant poured in a game-high 36 points to lead Los Angeles in a 105-96 victory over the Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.
Pau Gasol added 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Lakers, who saw their season-high two-game slide come to an end and improved to 8-4 as the visitor this season. Andrew Bynum ended with 13 points and Derek Fisher 11 in the win. Lamar Odom gave 12 points and six boards.
On the injury front for Los Angeles, talented reserve guard Jordan Farmar is out after tearing his lateral meniscus in last Friday's 89-87 loss to the Miami Heat.
The Hornets, meanwhile, will be attempting to finish a three-game homestand undefeated. The team won its fourth straight game on Saturday when the Western Conference Player of the Week, Chris Paul, scored a game-high 34 points, doled out nine assists and had eight steals to lead New Orleans in a 99-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
James Posey added 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting for the Hornets, who are now 9-3 at New Orleans Arena. David West gave 12 points and Tyson Chandler and Morris Peterson notched 10 apiece in the win.
Hornets sharp-shooter Peja Stojakovic, who has missed the last two games with back spasms, is questionable for tonight's contest after going through a limited practice on Monday.
The Lakers already upended the Hornets earlier this season in the Big Easy, 93-86, and have won two straight and three of their last four games over New Orleans.
