NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, December 22nd (All times eastern)

Los Angeles Lakers (21-5) at Memphis Grizzlies (9-17), 8:00 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers will try to stop a season-high two- game losing streak Monday night when they resume a four-game road trip against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.

Los Angeles opened the trek with a loss at Miami before suffering a 106-103 defeat at the hands of the Orlando Magic on Saturday at Amway Arena. Kobe Bryant recorded a season-high 41 points and also grabbed eight rebounds for the Lakers, who have dropped two straight following a four-game winning streak.

Derek Fisher ended with 27 points and Pau Gasol scored 11 in defeat. Los Angeles is 7-4 as the guest in 2008-09 and will also visit the New Orleans Hornets on the road swing.

Much like LA, the Grizzlies have lost two in a row after winning four straight games. They will close out a five-game homestand Monday and are 2-2 so far on the residency.

In Friday's 112-83 setback to the Charlotte Bobcats, Rudy Gay ended with 17 points and Darko Milicic chipped in 11 points for Memphis. Rookie O.J.Mayo had his streak of consecutive games in double-digit scoring come to an end at 28 with a seven-point effort.

Los Angeles went 2-1 against Memphis a year ago and has won three of the last five meetings in the series. The Lakers have won two straight at FedEx Forum.
