Miami Heat (13-12) at New Jersey Nets (13-12), 8:00 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets will resume a four-game homestand Saturday night against the Miami Heat at the IZOD Center.
The Nets evened their record at 1-1 on the residency when Devin Harris scored 41 points and dished out 13 assists against his former team, and the New Jersey Nets defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 121-97, in Jason Kidd's first game at the IZOD Center since being traded last season.
Harris and Kidd were traded for each other in February of last season in a desperate attempt by the Mavericks to upgrade their point guard position. Harris, who is having a breakout season with averages of 23.8 points and 6.3 assists coming into the game, shot 14-of-25 from the floor.
Vince Carter chipped in 34 points and 10 rebounds for the Nets, who had lost four of five coming in. Yi Jianlian posted 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jarvis Hayes had 14 points in the win.
New Jersey, which is just 5-8 in North Jersey, will finish the homestand on December 22 vs. Houston.
The Heat, meanwhile, won a thriller in South Beach on Friday when Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 35 points, and Miami held on at the end thanks to a missed shot by Kobe Bryant to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers, 89-87, at American Airlines Arena.
Wade shot 13-of-25 from the floor for the Heat, who snapped a three-game skid. Daequan Cook added 14 points, while Shawn Marion had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a winning effort. Mario Chalmers posted 10 points for Miami.
The Heat, who are 5-7 as the visitor this season, dropped New Jersey, 99-94. in Miami earlier this season to snap a two-game skid against the Nets. The Heat have also won three straight over the Nets in New Jersey.
