Utah Jazz (15-10) at Boston Celtics (22-2), 7:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics are off to their best start in franchise history and own the NBA's longest winning streak this season at 14 games. They will shoot for their ninth straight home victory Monday versus the Utah Jazz at TD Banknorth Garden.
Boston has ripped off 14 consecutive victories since a 94-85 loss to the Denver Nuggets on November 14 in Beantown. It opened a quick two-game homestand with Friday's 94-82 victory over the New Orleans Hornets, as Paul Pierce scored 28 points and Kevin Garnett ended with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the defending NBA champs.
The Celtics' 14-game winning streak is tied for the fourth-longest winning stretch in team history. They last won 14 straight games in the 1985-86 title season, and the longest victory string in team annals is 18, set during the 1981-82 campaign.
Boston is 13-1 as the host this season.
Utah will kick off a five-game road trip Monday and is 5-6 away from Salt Lake City this season. It will visit Boston, New Jersey, Detroit, Chicago and Milwaukee on the swing.
The Jazz had a two-game winning streak stopped in Saturday's 103-94 loss to the Orlando Magic at EnergySolutions Arena. Deron Williams had 17 points and 11 assists, while Paul Millsap ended with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Andrei Kirilenko also had 17 points in defeat.
Boston and Utah split a pair of meetings last season, but the Jazz have won three of the last four in the series. Utah has won back-to-back contests in Beantown.
