(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets embark on a tough four-game west coast road trip Tuesday when they arrive in Hollywood to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.
The Nets reached the .500 mark on Saturday when Yi Jianlian netted a team-high 27 points and grabbed six rebounds to help lead New Jersey to a 112-95 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Izod Center.
Vince Carter had 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Nets, who won their second straight game.
Devin Harris contributed 18 points and a team-high 10 assists for New Jersey, which has won four of five overall. All five starters finished in double figures as the Nets shot 50.7 percent from the field. Rookie Brook Lopez had 14 points and 10 boards.
On the injury front for the Nets, center Josh Boone (bruised left ankle) and forward Eduardo Najera (strained lower back) are both questionable for tonight's game.
The Lakers have been nearly perfect this season and improved to a gaudy 11-1 on Sunday despite a shaky defensive effort. Kobe Bryant finished with 24 points and six assists to lead the Lakers to a 118-108 win over the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.
Eight Lakers players finished in double-figures, including Andrew Bynum, who scored 15 points and brought down 10 rebounds.
Pau Gasol added 16 points, and Lamar Odom had 14 off the bench for Los Angeles, which has won four in a row.
Since sweeping the Nets in the 2002 NBA finals, the Lakers have lost four of their last six home games against New Jersey but the Nets are just 8-26 all- time in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
