NBA Preview from The Sports Network

New Jersey Nets (22-26) at Philadelphia 76ers (15-33), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets try and stop a three-game losing streak this evening when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Atlantic Division-rival Sixers at the Wachovia Center.

New Jersey, which opens a three-game road trip, suffered a 101-99 loss in overtime to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday at Continental Airlines Arena. Tyronn Lue hit the game-winning shot as the clock expired to down the Nets, who are three games off the lead in the Atlantic Division.

Vince Carter poured in 27 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed seven rebounds and Marcus Williams chipped in 18 points, as the Nets dropped their sixth game in eight tries. Mikki Moore and Jason Kidd each scored 13 points.

New Jersey will also Atlanta and Boston on the trek and is 9-14 away from the Meadowlands this season.

The Sixers, meanwhile, continue a seven-game homestand tonight and lost the opener on Friday versus the Golden State Warriors. Al Harrington hit a runner in the lane in the waning seconds of the contest to lift Golden State to a 102-101 victory, while Andre Iguodala missed on the other end for a chance to win the game.

Iguodala posted a triple-double with 25 points, a career-high 13 assists and 10 rebounds. Andre Miller had 19 points and rookie Rodney Carney added 15 for the Sixers, who have lost two of three.

Philadelphia is 10 games off the lead in the Atlantic and will also host the Bobcats, Clippers, Mavericks, Wizards and Knicks on the homestand. Philly is 7-12 as the host this season.

The Nets defeated Philadelphia, 112-107, on December 2nd this season in New Jersey, and have won five of the last eight encounters. New Jersey has won three of its last five trips to the City of Brotherly Love.
